No quiero repetir rumores. Si, ya sé. Steve Jobs va a anunciar “algo” mañana. Todo el mundo asume que será la “tablet / slate ” o terminajo similar. Y todo el mundo se ha dedicado a especular; algunos con una cierta evidencia más o menos tangible (registros de patentes de Apple, pedidos a fabricantes de procesadores o de displays), y otros atribuyéndose cierta clarividencia gadgetil no justificada. Yo no soy ningún fanboy de la empresa de la manzana. Si creo que Jobs es un gran innovador y admiro su capacidad de “productizar” la tecnología. Yo llevaba 6 PDAs cuando surgió el iPhone, y a la fecha estoy seguro que no hay nada radicalmente importante que haga el iPhone y que no haga cualquier smartphone promedio actual. Pero fue gracias al iPhone que el gran público se dio cuenta que quería un smartphone. Dada la secuela Macintosh, iMac, iPod, iPhone, es altamente probable que el anuncio de mañana sea el inicio de otro éxito rotundo para Jobs. Pero también, a la larga, podría resultar un fracaso, al que el señor no es inmune. Ahí tenemos a la Next y la Newton. Inclusive diría que la Macbook Air es un fracaso parcial: es un objeto del deseo por su look, pero ante el precio, al parecer no hizo más que pavimentarle el camino a las netbooks, estas si con un precio realista. Así, de todos los rumores que he oido al respecto del anuncio de mañana (que procuro evitar meterme en tales especulaciones), me quedo con esta lista totalmente basada en datos históricos. Por cierto, sigo sin querer un iPhone o un iPod… theduty: get ready kids…
